Personnel data and promotions:  Molly is an MIT grad who was hired as a Planner II into what is now the Current Planning Division. 2. How has the Department changed over the employee’s career?  5 years ago, Molly was originally hired into the Development Services Division as Planner II. Since that time, she has seen the merger of that division with Public Works. She is now assigned to the Community Development Division working as an Infrastructure Planner with the Capital Projects group. 3. How has the employee grown in their position and their career?  Molly has been with the City long enough (5 years) to gain a keen organizational awareness. This allows her to build teams and communicate with others to get the information or participation she needs to complete her assignments and to address community and customer needs.  She continues to deepen her experience and knowledge of all aspects of comprehensive planning, housing and community development. In her work on the Glenwood plan she also has absorbed a great deal of understanding about infrastructure planning, stormwater management best practices, park and open space planning, natural resources, etc. that will enable her to effectively serve as lead on future planning projects. a. One member of the Springfield executive team shared his observation that Molly’s delivery had improved greatly over the past year. 4. What significant projects or events has the employee been involved in?  Molly was a key member on the team that Glenwood Refinement Plan Update that was recently approved by the Lane County Board of Commissioners. Management of projects and programs of all shapes and sizes (Housing, Historic, Glenwood) have always come easy to her and she conveys technical information to other would-be experts effortlessly.  Molly is a planner who really understands what it means to plan comprehensively and collaboratively. She demonstrated this most recently in her participation in the planning and organization of the Lane Livability Consortium’s series of Synthesis Workshops.  Molly also sits on other non-profit boards and committees. 5. What positive comments do his/his co-workers have to share about the employee?  Comment from co-worker “nothing overwhelms the MIT grad, not even twins”  Molly, you are making a difference in Springfield, step by step, one day at a time and you are very much appreciated!
