AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING WARDS WITHIN THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD,
DESIGNATING THE PRECINCTS THEREIN, AMENDING SECTION 2.005, TERRITORY -
WARDS, OF THE SPRINGFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS..
Section 1: Section 2.005, Territory-Wards of the Springfield Municipal Code, 1965, is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"2.005 Territory- Wards. There are hereby established in the City, six
wards with Lane County Election Precincts as follows,
Ward .1 - Precinct 2122
Ward 2 - Precincts 2234,2236, 2238
Ward 3 - Precincts 2340, 2342, 2344
Ward 4 - Precinct 2456
Ward 5 Precincts 2562, 2564
Ward 6 - Precincts 2676, 2678
The boundaries of said Wards shall be established by Special Ordinance.
Said boundaries shall be maintained together with maps of such
boundaries on file with the City Recorder's Office."
Section 2: The boundaries of said Wards were established by Ordinance No. 6273
(Special) dated January 9, 2012, by the City of Springfield City Council. Maps of such
boundaries are on file with the City Recorder.
Section 3: Emergency Clause. It is hereby found and determined that matters
pertaining to the designation of the precincts within ward boundaries in the City of
Springfield and the proper apportionment of population within said wards is a matter
affecting the welfare of the City of Springfield, and that an emergency is therefore
found and declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall therefore take effect immediately
upon its passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor.;
Adopted by a vote of 4 for and o against this 5th day of March, 2012. (2 absent)
Approved by the Mayor this 5th day of March, 2012.
