The follo\\~ng apply: I. Lateral reinforcing bars need to be placed in the footings in accordance with the engineering drawings 2. Dowels connecting the footing and future stemwall need to be installed in accordance with the engineering drawings 3. The excavation should be clean and free from mud and deep standing water. Some water is unavoidable, and it will be necessary to place concrete to avoid mixing with the surface water. 4. A crushed rock subgrade layer is not necessary. Although this works to increase the sliding coefficient between the base of the footing and clay-bearing soils, there is a slab present, and opposing subgrade structures, to resist the sliding forces. 5. There is some variation in the placement ofthe continuous horizontal reinforcement. The existing conctitions are acceptable If you have any questions, please feel free to calL scri~n~lED Regards, EXPIRES 6-30-0l Stephen G. Keating PE
