RE: Valley and Hip Framing over trusses at 752 Poltava, Springfield, Oregon.
We ( Moshofsky Enterprises, Inc.) are the manufacturers of the trusses
on this building. Valley and Hip framing does not add significant dead. load
to the trusses. But if the additional framing members are over six
feet in length, a post should be installed a~ the midway point of the
framing member to the truss below. This will distribute the snow load
over the trusses.
