Re': Inspection of gravel fill for foundation of residence located
at 1605 Rainbow Drive, Springfield, Oregon
On October 22, 1980, I made an inspection of the foundation fill placed'
at 1605 Rainbow Drive (at the rear of 1601 Rainbow Drive). The fill area
about 30'x 55' size, of approximately 18" uniform thickness to provide
a level foundation base for the wall footings. The ground at the fill
area had been scraped to remove any surface organic material to un-
disturbed ground. The gravel material placed was river bottom bar-run
(sand and coarse gravel) compacted with a track crawler. The surface
, ,
was levelled with 2" of 3/4" minus cur shed rock.
We hereby certify that the subgrade preparation, materials used and
placement methods, provide a proper engineered fill for under the wall
foundation at this site with compaction of 95 percent of maximum
optimum density as required by,U.B.C.
