8.266 Schools.
Every public, federal or state funded
school shall be allowed a maximum
of two wall signs not to exceed a
total combined area of 80 square
feet and one free standing sign not tll
exceed 40 square feet. Neon signage
will not be allowed.
(1) Logos are exempt from permit
requirements provided the logo is
the logo of the business residing on
the premises and provided the total
square footage of the permitted wall
signs and the logos do not exceed a
combined area of 80 square feet.

RE: retention of existing
freestanding sign.
Applicant proposes to retain the
existing freestanding sign for
historic value. The existing sign will
be moved to a location directly in
front of the school and will be
located to provide viewing only from
inside the property. Because the
existing sign will be relocated to be
placed out of view from the public
right of way it would be considered
an invisible sign and allowed per
Springfield Sign Code section 8.234
(12).

To Request an inspection call the 24 hour recording at 726-3769. All inspection requested before 7:00 a.m.
will be made the same working day, inspections requested after 7:00 a.m. will be made the following work
day.

Sign Location: To verify the location of the proposed sign.
Sign Footing: After excavation and forms are in place, but prior to concrete.
Sign Attachment: Method of mounting the sign to a structure or pole. Method of attachment of bolts or welds.
Sign Final: After all required inspections are conducted and approved and the sign installation is completed.
By signature, I state and agree, that I have carefully examined the completed application and do hereby certify that all
information hereon is true and correct, and I further certify that any and all work performed shall be done in accordance with
the Ordinances of the City of Springfield and the Laws of the State of Oregon pertaining to the work described herein, and
that NO OCCUPANCY will be made of any structure without permission of the Community Services Division, Building Safety.
I further certify that only contractors and employees who are in compliance with ORS 701.005 will be used on this project.
I further agree to ensure that all required inspections are requested at the proper time, that each address is readable from the
street, that the permit card is located at the front of the property, and the approved set of plans will remain on the site at all
times during construction.
