'Natura1R~ur. . field ~rabons To: Pat --- Thanks for meeting with me yesterday to go over the wetland issues on MountainGate. I met with Willamalane and the City planner & engineer this morning to further discuss the issues. I'm looking forward to meeting with you and Dan Cary onsile tomorrow. The issues I'd like to discuss and get direction on are as follows: 1. At the time the delineation was done a slash pile covered most of the northeast fork of the area mapped as the D-1 wetland and that area could not be accessed for wetland evaluation. When we visited the site it appeared that the upper portion of this area might not qualify as a wetland. 2. As our development design became more refined there is strong interest by Willamalane, the City and the owner to maintain the currently permitted mitigation site for recreational use and either by credits or relocate the mitigation site to the detention pond area. 3. We'd iike to enhance the existing wetlands upstream from the quarry to increase water detention and add vegetation. We have to add Dioswales into our storm water system and I'd like to incorporate the enhanced wetiand areas if possible. 4. Our subdivision is designed to preserve all of the wetlands except for one road crossing which will impact 2000 square feet (D-1) and another 1200 square foot isolated wetland (H-1) where the main road must be located to meet grade and alignment requirements. I understand we'll need ,a fill permit for these areas prior to construction which is planned for June 1, 2004. 5. I'd like to reexamine the depression wetlands located at the lower floor of the quarry to determine their actual size. tf they are wetlands can we fill them temporarily with rock during our quarry reclamation process? . . For tomorrow's meeting I'd like to accomplish the following objectives in order of prio;iR E C E , V ED 1. Verify that the limited filling of wetlands proposed by our design is permitable. Determine the feasibility of modifying our current permit to purchase credits or use the proposed detention pond and areas in and adjacent to the D-1 wetlands to the north for mitigatioA. 3. Determine if the full northeast fork of D-1 is wetland. 4. Determine if the mapped area for depression wetlands is accurate. 5. Determine if we can use the depression wetlands to store rock temporarily during the quarry reclamation. . Thanks for your help. I'm looking forward to working with you.
