similar public facilities
Fire Notes:
1.
Additional comments not related to the completeness of the application:
a. The construction fence shall go around the fire hydrant so as not to impede fire
fighter access to it. The fence shall maintain a minimum 3 foot clear width around the
circumference of the fire hydrant meeting 2010 Springfield Fire Code 507.5.5. This also
goes for vegetation encroaching on the hydrant space.
b. Provide an additional gate on the north side near the northeast corner. The purpose is
to keep water supply hose lay distances to within 600 feet on the west side of the Fred
Meyer building to its northwest corner per 2010 Springfield Fire Code 507.5.1, Exception
2.
c. Provide public works locks for the construction gates to maintain fire access to the
west side of the Fred Meyer building. Public works locks can be obtained at Heyman's
Safe, Lock and Security at 141 14th Street in Springfield (541-747-6713).
