NOTIFICATION
MOUNTAIN GATE PHASE 4 CONSTRUCTION
MOUNTAlNGATE QUARRY OPERATIONS
Dear Mountaingate Neighbor,
As you are aware, construction of Phase 4 of the Mountaingate Subdivision has been
lUlder construction for the last two months and will continue throughout the construction
season, including additional blasting, excavation and other construction activities, all
occurring under City of Springfield Public Works permit.
Related to the above construction, work will begin in.the MOUNTAINGATE QUARRY
!PARK RECLAMATION Phase 2 & 3 under the hearings official's Discretionary Use
Permit.
As required, this notice is being mailed two days prior to the beginning of blasting. The
first blast is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday April12'h. Blasting will occur
between the hours of 10 AM and 4:00 PM with a variable frequency but normally once
or twice per week.
The blasting will be performed under carefully controlled conditions to minimize noise
and vibration. Although blasting operations have been engineered to eliminate the
possibility of vibration, you may feel a slight ground motion and hear a low level of
noise. Each blast will be monitored for sound and ground motion. Each blast will be
preceded by air hom warning blasts as follows:
5 MINUTES PRIOR: 5 long air horn warning blasts
I MINUTE PROIR: 5 short air horn warning blasts
AFTER BLAST ALL CLEAR: 1 air horn blast
We appreciate your co-operation and understanding in the construction of this phase of
the Mountaingate Subdivision and the reclaination of the MOUNTAIN GATE QUARRY.
