Protection/Umpqua Valley Fire Services. Plans reviewed under the 2010 Springfield Fire Code; 2002 edition of NFPA
17A, Standard for Wet Chemical Extinguishing Systems and 2008 edition of NFPA 96, Standard for Ventilation Control
and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations.
This is a Range Guard RG-4 UL 300 listed wet chemical suppression system. This system has a 1/2 inch pipe from the
cylinder to the first tee at the plenum followed by 3/8ths inch pipe after that. One pipe section supports 2 ADP nozzles
(one flow point each) for a 61 perimeter inch duct and 2 ADP nozzles protecting a 12 foot long plenum. The other branch
lines support nozzles protecting various appliances. These include an F, nozzle (2 flow points) protecting a 14 inch X 14
inch fryer (with an 8 inch drip board); two LPR nozzles (1 flow point each) protecting a 26.5 inch X 35 inch 6 burner range
with a back shelf; a 24 inch X 33 inch gas radiant char broiler protected by two GRW nozzles (1 flow point each) and 1
ADP nozzle protecting a 24 inch X 36 inch griddle.
Note: Information provided by Raef Parmelee with A-1/Umpqua indicates that another fryer will be added, maxing out the
flow points at 12.
Provide as-builts of any changes in approved plans.
Provide a 16 inch separation between the deep fal fryer(s) and the 6 burner range or an 8 inch high baffle plate meeting
the requirements of NFPA 96,2008 edition, Section 12.1.2.4 and 12.1.2.5.
