CITY OF SPRINGFIELD
RESOLUTION NO ..D.2=38
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE SPRINGFIELD BICYCLE PLAN MAP AND TEXT TO
ADD A 0.75 MILE MULTI-USE PATH ON THE WEST SIDE OF 42ND STREET.
WHEREAS, Article 8 of the Springfield Development Code sets forth Criteria for
refinement plan map and text amendments; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Springfield's Public Works Department initiated an amendment to
the Springfield Bicycle Plan, a refinement of the Eugene-Springfield Transportation System Plan,
to add a multi-use path to the west side of 42nd Street between Olympic Street and the railroad
tracks; and,
WHEREAS, the Springfield Planning Commission conducted a public hearing to accept
testimony and hear comments on this proposal and voted six in favor, none opposed with one
absent to fOlWard findings of fact and a recommendation of approval to the Springfield City
Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Springfield City Council held a public hearing to accept testimony on this
proposal on July 15,2002; and
WHEREAS, evidence and findings exist within the record demonstrating that the proposal
meets the requirements of Article 8 of the Springfield Development Code.
NOW THEREFORE THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby approve the amendment to the
Springfield Bicycle Plan described as follows:
Amend the Springfield Bicycle Plan Map and Text to add a 0.75 mile multi-use
path on the west side of 42nd Street between Olympic Street and the railroad tracks.
2. The effective date of this amendment is July 16,2002.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 15th day of
July 2002, by a vote of 5 for and 0 against.
APPROVED by the Mayor of the City of Springfield this
July 2002.
