RESOLUTION NO. 02-20
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD COMMON COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF BULB-OUTS ON THE NORTHEAST
AND NORTHWEST CORNERS AT THE INTERSECTION OF MILL STREET AND
'G' STREET.
WHEREAS, the City of Springfield recognizes the location of Meadow Park
adjacent to Mill Street, and that Mill Street is an access to and borders the park;
and,
WHEREAS, revitalization of Meadow Park is a Team Springfield project; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Springfield wants to provide for safe pedestrian movements
on Mill Street related to access to and from Meadow Park; and,
WHEREAS, bulb-outs will reduce the crossing distance of the pedestrians; and,
WHEREAS, bulb-outs will enhance the visibility to motorists of the crosswalks and
pedestrians, will enhance the importance of the crosswalks to pedestrians, and may
increase the likelihood of pedestrians using the crosswalks.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Springfield that the City Manager or his delegate is authorized to install bulb-outs
on the northeast and northwest corners at the intersection of Mill Street and 'G'
Street.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield the 1 s t day of April,
2002.
