As you requested I performed site soils inspections on June 15 & 18,200 I at the above noted location,
During that inspection I made the following observations, .
TIle site soils con~i:>l of an 8 - 12 inch laycr of organic lOp~oil with a ~ub soil of clay that is dispersed
with large boulders, The clay is classified as a CH in accordance \.\.'lth the uses system. The PI oflhe soil
is approximated at a value greater then 35 making it have a veIY high degree of expansion (After l10ltz
1959), Recommendations for the site:: are U$ follows
June 15, 2001
The site needs to have all of the organic layer removed and place a minimum of 12 inches of crushed rock
a~ a base for the foundation. The rock needs to be compacted to 95% of a standard proctor. The native
grade needs to be cut so that it slopes towards the natural fan at the NW corner of thc'\ot so that no w~ter
can sit on the sub surface.
June 18,2001
The ~ite has been prepared in accordance with my recommendations as stated above, The rock is placed to
- a minimum of95% compaction based on a standard pr(lctor, The as constructed is adequate to support a
standard residential foundation,
