April 1, 1994 Dwane Knights 36205 Camp Creek Rd. Springfield, OR 97478 Dear Mr. Knights: The Plans you submitted for a building permit for a duplex at 2068 and 2070 Scott Rd. are incomplete. The following information is required before we can complete our plan review: 1. A floor framing plan for the upper level is missing. How is the second floor structure supported at the front (beam above the garage 7) and at the staircase 7 2. The plans show the slab-edge insulation to be applied in an unusual manner using two applications of "Foamalar". Please submit the manufacturer's specifications for the material to this office for evaluation. The information must contain the following: a. Type of foam used in the material (include documentation showing that the material is approved for ground contact). b. Thermal resistance (R-value) for the material. Either the tested R-value per inch, or a table of R-values for various thicknesses of the material is acceptable. . c. Please submit a detail showing how slab-edge separation is to be achieved at the interior slab junction between the heated residence and the unheated garage. A minimum of 24" of R-15 foam insulation is required between the two areas. 3. The width of the footing, including the "Foamalar" layers, is shown to be 12". The actual footing width is therefore only 9". The width of the =ncretq alone must be at least 12" for a single story footing. If a beam is to be used to support the second floor over the garage, please indicate whether the footing is to be increased in size at the beam supports. If you need additional information regarding the above comments or requirements, please contact me by phone at 726-3623. Sincerely, ~JJf~ Donald Moore, Const.Rep./Plans Examiner I ,
