Today I spoke with Creed Eckert from Olson and Morris. We discussed that that the
applications request a plan designation change from HI to CC for 6.59 acres. Mr. Eckert
expressed that the applicant would like to request that an additional 5.31 acres of HI land
be rezoned to MUE in the future at the time the redesignated CC property is rezoned from
HI to CC. We discussed that MUE zoning could be placed only ill areas identified for
mixed use or nodal on adopted plans. The area the applicant would like to rezone to
MUE is not located in an area identified for mixed use on any adopted plan. I suggested
that Mr. Eckert .speak with his client to determine if the applicant would like to revise the
application to include a proposal to redesignate the area identified for MUE zoning to
Mixed Use plan designation. He stated that he would contact his client and respond to
me during the Week of August 1,2005.
We also discussed aiming for an October 4,2005 Planning Commission hearing and a
October 17,2005 City Council hearing.
