August 3,2007 City of Springfield Attn: Steve Graham, Plumbing Inspector 225 Fifth Street Springfield, OR 97477 Re: Job #C7-0001O 460 Lindale Drive Dear Steve: This letter is in response to the stop work order for Job #C7-0001O. We have designed the sanitary sewer at 0.5 percent grade which is a flatter slope than allowed by code, but we feel as though our design is adequate due to the amount of flow generated by the apartments. The existing sewer we are replacing has grades as low as 0.002 percent and in some places the grade is adverse. By tight control of the grade during construction, we can ensure the sewer will flow adequately. /4- Thomas F. Poage, P.E. " 'EXPIRES: /W~ (1f CIVIL / ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING 0 SURVEYING P.O.
