FW: Generator containment info
Kip: It appears that SUB Water Quality has granted conditional acceptance of the diesel generator as discussed below.
Planning and Public Works staff have reviewed the plans and determined the enclosure needs to be equipped with a
stormwater drain with shutoff valve or filter insert. Hope this helps!

Geoff,
The original proposal was for the enclosure to drain to landscaping, but that was not possible because of
property boundary issues. Determining how and where the enclosure should drain will be site specific.
The shut-off valve is more like a ball valve, though I am not sure of the exact kind of valve they used (so,
no, not like a flood gate).
SUB would like to see an insert in the catch basin; however, the actual requirements come from the City,
not from SUB.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Amy,
Thank you much for the cut-sheet. If I am understanding the excerpt below correctly, it looks like the Springfield Dialysis
project used a flood gate at the wall of the enclosure, which drained through the wall across the ground surface to an
adjacent catch basin. Please let me know if this sounds accurate, and let me know if the attached stop gate is similar to

'I the product used at Springfield Dialysis. Please also note that, for our project site~e existing catch basin that would
accept drainage from the generator enclosure is not currently fitted with a flo-guard insert. Would SUB require the.
Cabela's project to add an insert to the existing catch basin? .
Thank you,

Geoff,
Pasted below is an excerpt from the Springfield Dialysis HMMP that explains the set-up. I have attached

Mark: The diagrams are consistent with our previous discussions so the City is amenable to the requested changes. If
you have any additional questions please let me know.
On a related note, Cabela's has just announced an anticipated grand opening date of May 5. To ensure that final
building occupancy can be issued for the Cabela's store in accordance with this schedule, Planning staff will need to
conduct a final site inspection sometime in late April once all exterior site improvements have been completed. I can
arrange for the final site inspection given reasonable advance notice. Thanks
