RE: 019 Cabela's I Emergency Generatort 2BOO Gatewayt Permit #B 11-SPR201 0-257
Importance:
High
Dear Scott,
Deferred submittals require (2) copies architect's wet-signature, plan documents be submitted for review and approval
by the City of Springfield Development Services Department, Building Safety Division. This is true for both of your
deferred submittals: 1) the emergency generator and standby power, and 2) the shelving systems and storage racks.
In addition to planning, public works and possibly S.U.B. Drinking Water Protection review, the emergency generator
and standby power requires building, fire and electrical plan reviews for compliance with the following:
1) 2007 Oregon Structural Specialty Code Sections 1006, 1008, 1011, 1108.3, 2702 and 3003,
2) 2007 Oregon Fire Code/ Springfield Fire Code Sections 604, 1006, 1008, 1011,
3) 2008 Oregon Electrical Specialty Code,
4) NFPA 13, 70, 72, 110 and 111,
S) and listed in accordance with UL 2200.
There are many permits related to 2800 Gateway Street and to the Cabela's project. Please reference the permit
number for your project on your emails and on your submittal documents.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Kip Kaufman

RE: 019 Cabela's I Emergency Generator
Dear Andy,
I'll be responding to Scott Walker today because the emergency generator does require building (including electrical)
and fire review.
Thank you for keeping me updated.

Amy: Attached is a site diagram showing the location of a proposed diesel emergency generator for the Cabela's store.
This feature was not shown on the approved Final Site Plan for the project. Please review the manufacturer cutsheets
and advise ifthe proposed style and location of generator can be accommodated. The applicant advises that secondary
containment should be built-in to the generator design. However, because the presence of a diesel-fueled generator
was not contemplated in the Drinking Water Protection review for this site, please let me know if this triggers the
requirement for a DWP permit. Thanks!
Andy
