Gateway: Wheel Stops

I spoke with Andrew Limbird, planner with the City of Springfield about the wheel stops and the following direction was
agreed upon.
1. Remove all wheel stops along the west parking stalls except at the far north parking stalls adjacent to the
pedestrian over pass entrance.
a. The City's concerns were the proximity of the stall to the fence and that it over hang from the car could
damage the fence or the car. It is understood that the fence is owned by GGP. We will look internally at
possible relocation of the fence.
2. Remove wheel stops at islands with trees.
a. Trees will provide a visual to the driver as to the proximity of the curb.
3. Wheel stops in the ADA spaces in front of Cinemark are not required because the sign post acts as a visual
queue.
a. City recommends we keep these.
4. Wheel stops are required at the following:
a. Spaces around the landscaped island directly in front of Cabela's.
b. Spaces directly infront of sidewalk entrance to the pedestrian bridge.
I told Andrew I would mark up a plan and send it to him for review and approval. That plan will then be attached to the
permit set.
