Re: Housing Inspection at 3656 Game Farm Road
Dear Mr. Mills:
At your request, the Building Division of the 'City of Springfield made a housing
inspection on December 12, 1978, at 3656 Game Farm Road, Springfield, Oregon.
The, following items must be repaired or replaced to conform "ith the Uniform Hous-
ing Code ,as adopted by the City of Springfield:
I. All windows must open freely.
2. The vent pipe for the range hood terminates in the attic. This pipe must ex-
tend through the roof to the outside atmosphere, and a rain shield cap install-
ed on the pipe.
3. The ceiling height on the garage side of the door leading from the kitchen to
the garage must be a minimum of 7 feet, and the head room for the stairs at this
location must be a minimum of 6 feet 6 inches measured from the nose of the,
treads.
4. The quarter bend vent connector (stove pipe) used to connect the wood stove to
the chimney must be replaced with an approved type metal chimney fitting "ith
an integral clean out section.
5. The concrete chimney used for the wood stove must have an approved fire clay
liner installed, and the opening belo" the connection for the wood stove must
be sealed "ith concrete.
6. Before using the fireplace in the living room it would be advisable to have the
chimney cleaned and' inspected by a licensed chimney s"eep.
7. All 1 ight fixture "iring must be connected in an approved manner in approved
junction boxes with the fixture securely fastened to the junction' box.
8. All wire splices in the attic must be taped "ith electrical tape.
9. Install cover plates on all receptacle and switch outlet boxes, replace the
broken ones.

10. The "lrlng to the pump in the garage must be installed in a meta] race"ay.
Splices are not permitted in the field and all splices must be made in an
approved junction box. A disconnect must be installed at the pump.
All necessary permits sha]] be obtained before work starts and all "ork shall be
accomplished according to applicable codes and i~spected before a Certificate of
Compliance will be, issued.
