HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 11-10 05/02/2011RESOLUTION NO. 11710 A RESOLUTION HONORING EUGENE POLICE OFFICER CHRIS KILCULLEN WHO GAVE HIS LIFE IN THE LINE OF DUTY AND SUPPORTING THE CITY AND CITIZENS OF EUGENE DURING THIS TIME OF SORROW WHEREAS, on April 22, 2011, Eugene Police Officer Chris Kilcullen made the supreme sacrifice when he lost his life in the line of duty; and WHEREAS, the City of Eugene, as well as our entire community, has suffered a tremendous loss with the death of Officer Kilcullen, and WHEREAS, the impact of _ this tragedy upon Officer Kilcullen's family, friends, department and community is immeasurable; and WHEREAS, Officer Kilcullen was an honorable, dedicated and hard-working police officer who loved his family, his work, and served -his community in an exceptional manner; and WHEREAS,. Law Enforcement is an honorable, hard-working.profession that diligently seeks to make our communities more livable; and WHEREAS, there is no. greater sacrifice an Officer can make for their community than to give their life; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Springfield, Oregon, extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to Officer Kilcullen's family, and the City of Eugene's staff and citizens. We mourn the loss of Eugene's valuable public servant, and wish for healing and hope in this time of need.
