River Rock Swale
FYI-I inquired with our Public Works Engineering group about the possibility of using river rock on top of the infiltration
swale located along the southeast edge of the property. The City's Engineering staff advises that river rock is not a
preferred alternative, although it could be used provided: a) the size and depth of rock is limited; and b) there is
provision for planting grass or other appropriate vegetation within or under the rock layer to ensure it still performs a
filtering function. If you are proposing this type of surface treatment for the infiltration swale I recommend including a
suitable planting medium for a swale grass seed mixture. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks
