RE: Jacksons Food Store #112
Ron,
Thank you for sending the specs for the Laticrete SpectraLock PRO Grout. After consultation with
representatives from the Springfield Fire Department, I can approve your request to replace the
approved system with the proposed substitute as you stated below, with one modification. As you and I
discussed over the telephone, the SpectraLock 2000 (G, not the Spectra Lock PRO Grout, will provide the
needed chemical resistance. Your request can be approved under the condition that you use the
SpectraLock 2000 IG grout. Please keep me posted on the progress.
Thank you,
Amy Chinitz

Subject: Jacksons Food Store # 112
Amy,
Due to slow concrete curing rates this time of the year and the Devmat 111 epoxy required curing time of 30 days we
would like to substitute the epoxy coating under the porcelain tile with an epoxy grout between the tiles in order to meet
our opening schedule.
The approved system was as follows:
5" concrete slab over "moistop" moisture barrier.
Devmat 111 epoxy paint over concrete slab
thin set mortar over epoxy
Dal-tile Porcelain tile and sand grout wi sealer over thin set.
The proposed substitute would be as follows:
5" concrete slab over "moistop" moisture barrier.
Laticrete 4237 Latex Thin Set
Dal-tile Porcelain tile and an epoxy Laticrete Spectra Lock PRO Grout (requires no sealer)
Your consideration of this substitution is greatly appreciated,
