[AmyC@subutil.com] Tuesday, December 14, 20108:50 AM Jack Davis Rich Wright; L1MBIRD Andrew; GORDOflj Gilbert RE: Jacksons #112 - Construction Project - floor sealant/protection Jack, I have not received any prior information about the floor design. What kind of flooring material will you be using? Can you please send me the data sheet for the original floor coating that the architect proposed? The coating needs to create a liquid-proof floor. The specs for this product state that it is not a replacement for a waterproof membrane. The chosen product needs to be specifically intended for secondary containment. Let's look at the kind of flooring material and the product originally proposed and then make sure you are selecting the proper system. If need be, we can refer you to a vendor who has helped other businesses in Springfield with the same secondary containment need. Amy E. Chinitz Water Quality Protection Coordinator ... Cc: Rich Wright Subject: Jacksons #112 - Construction Project - floor sealant/protection Amy, As you are likely aware the construction activities at our store #112 in Springfield is well under way. It was brought to my attention that the floor coating that our architect specified to satisfy the SUB new building secondary containment requirement has a cure time of 30 days before anything can be applied over it. This product is not going to work for us. . Attached is a specification sheet for a chemical resistant epoxy grout that appears to serve the same purpose and cures quickly. I am seeking your approval to use this product as an alternate, or come up with something that will satisfy the requirement without delaying the project. Thank you for your consideration. .
