I will most likely be at the Police/Courts Building reporting for jury duty tomorrow. H,ere is my
comments for the Development Issues Meeting:
Question #3:
It is my understanding from an earlier discussion that the Vera Street extension will be blocked in
some fashion, creating a dead end street. If this is the case, the dead end is most likely to exceed
150 feet. If that is the case, a fire department turn-around is required per 2010 Springfield Fire Code
Appendix 0, Section 0103.4.
Due to the relocation of the new house, a fire hydrant and extended water service will need to be
provided on 19th Street. The fire hydrant shall be not less than 600 feet from the furthest point on the
house as measured along an approved route per 2010 Springfield Fire Code 507.5.1, Exception 1.
