Weather: Partly Cloudy/ 550 Continuou~ Inspection: 0 Contractor: Chambers Construction B.P.No. S2010-00566 Periodic Inspection: ~ Met on-site with John Baugus (Chambers Construction) and Mitch O'Brien (Eugene Sand Construction) to observe in-progress footing excavation operations. Presently, excavations have been completed on line B and on line 1, and excavation at lines A2 is near completion. ' Column footing excavation are founded in the medium stiff native silt and sand alluvium strata described in the project soils report dated October 04, 2010. Footing and thickened slab edge excavation depths are sufficient to allow for placement of at least 8" of crushed rock base to raise areas back to proposed bottom of footing/slab edge finished grades. Also, observed placement of 3/4"-0 crushed rock in footing excavation at lines B1. Material is being compacted with a "jumping-jack" and/or vibratory plate compactor. . Mr. O'Brien stated remainder of excavation work will be completed early tomorrow morning and requested field compaction testing be scheduled for mid-day on 01- 25-11. Reviewed By: !h. Performed inspection on the reinforcing steel in column footings at lines 5A.3 and 5A.8. Reinforcing steel was checked for size, grade,quantity, spacing, laps, ties, supports and clearances, where applicable. . Observed the placement of 17.0 yards of Eugene Sand and Gravel 3000 psi concrete (mix 313068) into areas noted above. Concrete was placed directly from trucks and was mechanically consolidated. Cast one (1) set of four (4) 4" x 8" compressive strength cylinders from load 1. Slump - 4 1/4"; concrete temperature - 68F; air temperature - 51 F. John Baugus (Chambers Construction) was advised of the on-site test results and was asked to notify our office when additional services are needed. To the best of our knowledge, the work inspected was in accordance with plans dated 10-20-10, revised detail S2.1-1 dated 11-02-10 and applicable workmanship provisions of the I.B.C., except if noted above.
