Subject: Effective Date of Glenwood Annexation
Jerry,
I checked with Bill VanVactor just now on the effective date of the Glenwood annexation ordinance. He agreed that the Council
enacted the ordinance last night but the effective date is as specified in ORS 222.180: "complete from the date of filing with the
Secretary of State." This means that the City of Springfield will not have jurisdiction until that occurs. We will be sending this
information to the Secretary of State by tomorrow (7/9/08) and expect confirmation of receipt by the end of this week. We will let
you know as soon as we receive this confirmation.
