One and Two Family Dwelling Specialty Code
As you know, the City of Springfield Building Dept. will accept your building addit!on without
performing inspections, based on an engineer's report whiCh certifies. compliance with the
building code.
After our site inspection, we have determined that, prior to issuance of this report, the
following work must be done:
i.
A beam must be inserted through the gable end ot the addition to support the roof
framing above, and correct an over~span condition. A detail ot this is attached.

The rooting over the addition must be up-graded t6- meet Code requirements. We
recommend a single-ply modified bitumen ("torch-down") as supplied by a licensed
roofing contractor, meeting Code requirements for class B rooting.

3. Concrete pier footings must be placed under bearing walls as indicated on the
attached foundation plan.
4. .' Electrical wiring in the attic spaces must be attached at 48" maximum intervals and
supported at 24" 'maximum intervals. ' Electrical service equipment and splice boxes
must have covers attached.

Plumbing vent pipes must have a positive slope toward the sewer to avoid trapping
condensate or rainwater. .
