Subject: DWP Status
Randy McDougall called me on Wednesday, April 15 to ask me to eXPlainl the letter I had sent in
response to his site plan. I explained each item in the letter. The only ite~ left pending was
whether or not he would need to file for a DWP permit. I told him I would call Lissa Davis to ask
the question and that either Lissa or I would call him back.
I spoke with Lissa today. She said that she will write in her staff report that he needs to either file
for a DWP permit or seek an exemption. We agreed that he would probably receive an
exemption since his current upgrade project does not change or affect the Jse of hazardous
materials but that the exemption would come with some conditions regarding storage or handling
of hazardous materials in the shop.
I called Randy back to let him know the outcome of my conversation with Lissa. I told him that I
will need to visit his shop to get an idea of what kind of upgrades/protective measures may be
necessary. He will check his calendar and call me back to schedule a site ~isit.
