Tnc Springfield Utility Board Water Division bas no objection to the proposed swale being construclCd on
top of our water line as long as there is a minimum of 12" of cover, but we would prefer 18" or more. If

David,
As per our discussion on the phone, we will only require a minimum of 12" of cover (but would prefer 18" of
cover) over our water line at the swale location. This is in accordance with the letter dated March 5, 2007 that
we sent you in regards to cover over the waterline at the swale. When I wrote my comments to the City.of
Springfield in regards to this project recently, I forgot that we had already discussed this situation internally and
made an agreement to a shorter depth/cover over the waterline. I am sorry for the confusion.
