Andy Limbird City of Springfield Urban Planning Division RE: Case Number: DRC2008-00025 Applicant: East & West Coast Auto I received your letter of public notice concerning the application put forth by East & West Coast Auto. I have numerous concerns. 1) Increase in vandalism 2) Increase in traffic- 43rd and Smith Way. This area has had an increase in traffic during the rush hour because people do not want to sit at the light at 42nd and Main. At time the traffic exceeds the speed limit and they will often run the stop signs. Will you be putting in a stop light? 3) McKenzie Cottage Apts. Which is located on 42nd St. has seen an increase in Police and Emergency vehicle response. NOT good for business such as yours. 4) Is your burglar alarm loud or silent? 5) 42nd St is only busy during the rush hour. Weekends and summer time there is no one on the road. 6) Do you have a P A system that you call out your sales persons name on? Will we hear the phone ring? 7) If you decide to move or go out of business, the residence on Smith Way are stuck with looking at a vacant lot with a boarded up graffiti covered structure that will drive the value of the their property down. Will you be tearing it down? Solution: Have you considered the vacant lot at 39th and Main St. The residential neighborhood sets back from Main St. It's out in the open with easy access.
