ORDINANCE NO. 6056
(General)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE SPRINGFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE TO AN INITIATED
MEASURE REPEALING ORDINANCE 6036 AND SECTIONS 7.600, 7.602, 7.604,
7.610, 7.620, 7.640, 7.660, 7.664, 7.666, AND 7.668 OF THE SPRINGFIELD
MUNICIPAL CODE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Lane County Elections Division, on May 16, 2003,
verified and certified signatures on an initiative petition for the
measure described in the attached Ballot Title, which is hereby
incorporated by this reference herein.
Section 2. Said initiated measure, which repeals Ordinance 6036 is
hereby adopted, effective immediately.
Section 3. Sections 7.600, 7.602, 7.604, 7.610, 7.620, 7.640, 7.660,
7.664, 7.666, and 7.668 of the Springfield Municipal Code are hereby
repealed.
Section 4. The assessment and collection of fees for use of the
public way are hereby found and determined to be matters affecting the
public health, safety and welfare, and it is further found and
determined that an emergency exists. Therefore, it is found and
determined that this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this
30thday of June , 2003, by a vote of 6 for and 0
against.
APPROVED by the Mayor of the City of Springfield this 30th day
of June 2003.

Shall City of Springfield Ordinance No. 6036
authorizing the City to impose a transportation
system maintenance fee be repealed?
City of Springfield Ordinance No. 6036 adopted
December 9, 2002 authorized the City to impose a
transportation system maintenance fee and provided
for the City Council to set the rate and
administration, enforcement, and collection of the
fee. Approval of this Measure would repeal
Ordinance No. 6036 which grants the city authority
to impose the fee.
