Gilbert Gordon,
Deputy Fire Marshal
Springfield Fire &: life Safety
225 Fifth Street
Springfield, OR 97477
Dear Deputy Marshal Gordon,
Please find enclosed the revised construction permit application and associated
documents for the proposed liquid propane tank at Rosboro. This is a re-application for a
project that was originally permitted one year ago, but with a minor change in tank placement.
Using the plan review checklist, I've summarize the project details as follows:
1. Three sets of drawings - enclosed.
2. Detail distances - enclosed.
3. Tank information -1,903 water capacity, horizontal tank, ASME W1965
4. Container data sheets - name plate information and photos enclosed.
5. Piping, hose, fittings, and valves data sheets - valve sheets enclosed. All piping is
schedule 80.
6. Separation &: placement - see enclosed diagram, single tank.
7. Protection details - see bollard specs on the enclosed diagram.
8. Multiple Containers >180,000 gal. - Not applicable.
9. Horizontal containers on paved surface &: supports attached to the container - Yes, see
enclosed photos.
10. Vertical containers - Not applicable.
n. Plan details for anchoring - Not required, compliant with NFP A 58 6.6.3.3, height of
bottom of container <24" above paved surface.
12. Attached support detail- Not applicable, NFPA 585.2.7 applies to vertical and portable
tanks.
13. Container markings - tank photos enclosed.
14. Extinguisher - see drawing.
Please feel free to call me if you have any questions.

Service Valves for ASME and DOT Containers or Fuel Line Applications

Service Valves for ASME Motor Fuel Containers
Designed specifically for vapor or liquid withdrawal service on ASME
motor fuel containers. Since none of these valves have an integral
pressure relief valve, they may only be used as an accessory valve on
containers that have an independent pressure relief valve sufficient for
that container's capacity.
The integral excess flow valve found in all these service valves helps
prevent excessive product loss in the event of tuelline rupture.
When installed for liquid withdrawal, the 9101H6 has provisions
for attachment of a liquid withdrawal tube. All other valves must
be installed in containers that have provisions for a separate liquid
withdrawal.
To insure proper functioning and maximum protection from integral
excess flow valves, these service valves should be fully opened and
backseated when in use.

Flange Seal Liquid Transfer Angle Valves for
Bulk Storage Containers
Designed especially fOf liquid transfer of LP~Gas from consumer bulk
storage containers when used with a Chek-Lok- or equipped with an
integral excess flow varve. May also be used for vapor LP.Gas service.
In NH3 applicator tanks they may be used as a vapor bleeder valve or as
a liquid withdrawal valve when installed in a coupling with a dip pipe.
These liquid transfer valves are equipped with an integral excess flow
valve for liquid transfer directly from the tank fitting, or without an integral
excess flow for lP.Gas transfer through a Check-lok-.
When equipped with an integral excess flow valve (7550PX), the valve
should be mounted in a forged steel 3000 lb. half coupling. When
mounted in a 1 W x W NPT reducing coupling, the W female thread in
this coupling must be full length - eqUivalent to a forged steel 3000 lb.
halt coupling.
The excess flow valve will not function properly if these specifications
are not met.

Quick-Acting Valves for Cylinder Charging Hoses
Designed primarily for use on cylinder charging hoses to provide fast,
convenient shut-ott and fast opening.
These valves must be installed so that flow through the valve is in the
opposite direction to that of a conventional globe valve. This allows the
inlet flow to assist in dosing the valve, and even more important, helps
prevent the valve from being forced open by high pump pressure.
