Dear Ms. Gabert
On February 19, 1998 this office received a complaint of a failing septic system
located at 798 Dorris St" Springfield, Stan Pertrasek, On-Site Sewage Program
Manager, and I investigated the suspected sewage,
Tow water samples were taken, One in a roadside ditch above ~he suspect area,
and the other at the suspected sewage, The results are on the attached sheet,
The coliform totals listed of 300 and 700 parts per 100m!. represents normal
amounts that could be expected to be found in any open ditch, Raw sewage would
have a number in the 2 million parts per 100ml" Sewage that has been partially
processed by a drainfield and then failing on the ground would be in the 250,000
parts per 100m!.,
