Dear Mr. Johnson:
Find enclosed a copy of the Department of Public Works
inspection records for the home located at 2265 Don Street owned
by Mr. and Mrs. Dan Christensen and originally built and owned by
Diversified Properties, Inc. You will be served with a subpoena
if you have not already. I will be asking you the following
questions.
1. Your name.
2. Your professional background, work and education,
and your present work.
3. You will be provided with the original or a copy of
the inspection card from the City of Springfield.
4. Do you recall the particular home or homes located
in that area?
5. Do you recall who did the particular work that you
inspected?
6. Would you describe the manner in which you make an
inspection or have made inspections in the past as
a general matter and how you would have made the
inspection in this particular case.
7. Would a person coming in and attempting to inspect
a finished house be less able to thoroughly inspect
as a person such as yourself who was able to inspect
as the various stages of construction were proceed-
ing. Please explain.
8. On the inspection card you indicated that the drywall
failed inspection on January 22, 1974. Do you recall
what the problem was?

10. Did the construction pass your inspection and what
does that mean?
Those are essentially the questions. If you have any questions
of me prior to the time of trial, please call me. If there is a
change as to when you will be appearing as a witness, I will let
you know. Also, if it would be more convenient to change the time
that you appear as a witness, please call me in as far in advance
as you can so that I can make such an arrangement to accommodate
your schedule. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
