The notice of decision approving the Floodplain Overlay District permit for the Peace Health Medical Group Nurse
Midwifery Birth Center (SHR2008-00007) included findings that the base flood elevation for the building site is 433.8' amsl
(based upon the David Evans & Associates CEM floodplain model). Condition #3 of the approved Floodplain Overlay
permit established 433.8' as the Base Flood Elevation. Finding #34 states that the minimum finished floor elevation for
the structure must therefore be one foot above the base flood elevation.
Condition #4 states: "Prior to issuance of Final Occupancy for the professional office building, the applicant shall provide
an elevation certificate confirming the finished floor elevation is at least 434.8 feet."
Attached is stamped certification from KPFF Consulting Engineers that the finished floor elevation for the birth center
structure is 435.79 feet, thus exceeding the minimum elevation required in Condition #4, and nearly two feet above the
base flood elevation.
This therefore satisfies the only outstanding condition on the Floodplain Overlay District approval. If you have any
questions or comments, please let me know.
Please send a reply confirming receipt of this e-mail and acknowledging compliance with the relevant conditions of
approval.
