We received a call from Manuel Tena, concrete subcontractor,
concerning an alteration of the footing detail, substituting #3
or larger reinforcing bars at 6 ft .on. centers for the designed
I:ey joint. We will ~pprove this as. adequate.replacement for i.:he
lateral ;;liding resistance supplied. by: the Jeey.
When Will.. l' nspected the si te ey.,c:a.vation:' several days ago, we
recommended that the owner '.166haveC~installed a 1 - #4
reinforcing bar continuous at top of:st:emwall (below vent 11.ne').
The contI-actor intends to i nstall:.::..thi's, .. and we WOLll d 1 i ke the
verts tied to it.
