L1MBIRD Andrew Subject: DRISCOLL Jon Tuesday, September 08, 2009 1 :56 PM L1MBIRD Andrew; 'Ric Christian' VOGENEY Ken; MCEACHERN Clay1on; DONOVAN James; BOYATT Tom; STOUDER Matt; BARNETT Brian traffic flow on Chan site From: Sent: To: Cc: Andy, I spoke with Ric Christian of Geomax this morning about the final site plan. The latest alteration (emailed to me September 4) shows a one way counter-clockwise circulation which solves nearly all of the Transportation issues. It reduces the number of conflict points by 50%, allows adequate room for circulation of an SU30 vehicle, and provides an off-street loading zone on the south side of the building. A concern I had was that the incoming drivers would not initially understand that the traffic flow is one way. After discussing the problem with Ric, he has decided to add a one way sign on the building's north face as well as a painted exit arrow and seagull shape to make the circulation path clear. (See below for an example of a seagull shape.) Ric, please contact Any Limbird concerning the final site plan submittal requirements. (One additional issue I see is that lighting on the south side of the building would be appropriate.) With the previously mentioned modifications shown, Transportation's concerns have been met. Thank you for working with us to make this site's access and circulation safer. Sincerely, jlon- Jon Driscoll EfT, PLS, WRE Transportation Engineer in Training City of Springfield, Public Works 225 Fifth Street Springfield, OR 97478 Phone: (541) 726-3679 Fax: (541) 726-3781 id riscoll@.ci.sorinqfield.orus \ lfu -" ~.... .
