A RESOLUTION DECLARING ONE (1) WILDLAND FIRE APPARATUS OWNED BY THE CITY
OF SPRINGFIELD AS SURPLUS AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO DISPOSE OF THE
1981 4X4 INTERNATIONAL ENGINE IN ACCORDANCE WITH CITY OF SPRINGFIELD
MUNICIPAL CODE 2.714.
WHEREAS, the City of Springfield provides public safety services to the citizens of
Springfield and our partner agencies; and,
WHEREAS, the City has determined that optimizing fire'and ambulance response resources
to achieve the best possible outcomes is a high priority; and,
WHEREAS, the 1981 International 4x4 engine VIN AR185BHA10235 has outlived its
useful life as a viable part of the City.'s fire equipment, and is no longer needed by Springfield Fire &
Life Safety; and,
WHEREAS, the opportunity for public comment at a public hearing has been provided-prior
to the adoption of this Resolution,
WHEREAS, Springfield Municipal Code Section 2.714 .provides that the City may dispose
of surplus property by any means determined to be in the best interest of the City with due regard for
the value the City will receive from the disposal of the surplus property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby finds and
determines that the Property is not needed for public use, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager is directed to dispose of the 1981
4x4 International engine in accordance with the City of Springfield Municipal Code Section 2.714,
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution shall take effect upon adoption
by the Council and. approval by the Mayor.
