DRINKING WATER PROTECTION EXEMPTION REQUEST

Dear Molly,
\ have received the exemption request submitted by Corkey Gourley on behalf of Corkey
Gourley Insurance Inc. regarding the parking lot project. The proposal does not include the
use, storage, or production' of any hazardous materials and is therefore eligible for
exemption from SDC 3.3-200. Based on the information provided in the request, the
exemption can be granted.
Please note that the facility may be inspected at any time to verify the information provided
in the exemption certification. If at any point the conditions of exemption are no longer
met, a Drinking Water Protection Overlay District application may be required.
Because of the nature of the project and because stormwater runoff from parking lots
contributes to aquifer recharge, drinking water protection measures may still be required
as part of construction. Such measures may include placement of wellhead protection signs
and installation of catch basins with oil filtering media.
