Staff Markarian stated that a number of documents in the Stewart House files indicate that the spring may have also been located on the Stewart House property. Commissioner Corbin said that the Commission could review a landscape plan that is drawn to scale and that such plans would not necessarily need to be completed by a landscape architect. Mr. Felix expressed interest in a nomination to the National Register. I ITEM 4: Land Use Application - 540 E Street Jonathan Siegle owns the house at 540 E Street and has proposed changing several of the windows. The vernacular house was built in the 1940's, and it has been heavily remodeled. The original house was 940 sq ft and with the newer addition it is 2500 sq ft. The addition on the back was added as a box with a flat roofto serve as a family room off the kitchen. Mr. Siegle added a second story and a porch in the past, and he is currently remodeling the kitchen. All the windows are currently double hung, and Mr. Siegle proposed replacement of the double hung window where the sliding window faces north. He is also proposed removing the casement window and enlarging the opening and putting a double hung in the kitchen. He will replace with siding to match. Commissioner Corbin wanted to know how close to the back the window is located. Mr. Siegle said that the window is in the cube in the back. Commissioner Corbin asked if he had submitted his application. Mr. Siegle said that the contractor submitted it today. Commissioner Gill asked what the size of the replacement window will be. Mr. Siegle said that it is going to be 36" single double hung, produced by Marvin and of solid wood. Commissioner Corbin asked whether it is considered a Type 1 or Type II application. It technically falls in the Type II category but given that it is not a fa<(ade visible from the street, a Type I could be approved by the Commission and would not result in neighborhood notification of the change. Commissioner Tuttle said that he is not opposed to Type I. Commissioner Corbin said that he would make a motion that it be Type I since is not visible from street and on the frrst floor. Commissioner Van Gordon seconded it. The motion passed without dissent. I ITEM 5: Land Use Application - 341 6'h Street The City, on behalf of the property owner, proposes adding a wheelchair ramp onto the house. The repair will be funded through the City's HUD-funded housing and community development programs. The ramp would come off the back of the garag'e that faces C street to the back door and would be built of cedar. The back door is visible from 6th Street. Commissioner Corbin said that he has no concerns. Commissioner Gill said it was fine with her as long as it was able to be removed in the future. Commissioner Tuttle said that he thinks it will hardly be seen. Staff Jones said that it would be Type I application. Commissioner Corbin made a motion to approve it, Commissioner Tuttle seconded.
