Trevin and Grace,
We received a building permit for review. The building permit proposes to keep the rooms that were built without
permits as bedrooms. This means that the home would need to be licensed as a Residential Care Facility and not a
Room & Board per our Development Code standards in the Low Density Residential District. We are trying to approve
the building permit based on the condition that she will be licensed by the State before the rooms are occupied and
have some conditions on the permit if she is unable to obtain a license for a Residential Care Facility.
Attached is a narrative letter we received with the building permit. I'm wondering about paragraph two which
describes the care. Will this description qualify for the licensing? I'm also wondering if you can tell me where she is in
the process of becoming licensed and an approximate timeline?
