As you requested I performed a compaction inspection for the proposed buildings on September 12, 2003
at the above noted location. During that inspection I made the following observations.
The native soil fine fraction is a silty clay loam of moderate to low density. More then Y, the material will
pass a #200 sieve. The soil classification is a ML-CL. The native soil is not expansive and is free
draining. No special bearing requirements are needed for this lot to support a typical residential
foundation. The building pad for the proposed structure is constructed with bar run gravel :fill to a
maximum depth of about 10 feet. The existing :fill was placed long ago and seems to be well consolidated.
The existing fill was proof rolled with a loaded dump truck (ticket weight 48,000 #) and no excessive
deflections were noted. The:fill is adequate as placed to support the proposed building with a, surface
bearing capacity of 1000 Psf.
Thank you for this opportunity to be of service. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call me
