PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
SPRINGFIELD CITY COUNCIL
CASE NUMBER: C SP2009 - LRP2009-00013
APPLICANT: City of Springfield
NATURE OF THE APPLICATION: Proposal to annex approximately 0.66 acres of public street right-
of-way. The subject annexation area is a portion of 19th Street right-of-way between Yolanda A venue
and an undeveloped stub of Hayden Bridge Road.
AUTHORIZED USES: The subject right-of-way is partially developed as a rural gravel road. Upon
annexation, the subject territory will retain its current Low Density Residential (LDR) zoning.
APPLICABLE CRITERIA: The City Council shall approve, modi/)' or deny any annexation application
based upon the following approval criteria:
A. The affected territory proposed to be annexed is within the City's urban growth boundary and is
1. Contiguous to the city limits, or
2, Separated from the City only by a public right of way or a stream, lake or other body of
water;
B. The proposed annexation is consistent with applicable policies in the Metro Plan and in any
applicable refinement plans or Plan Districts;
C. The proposed annexation will result in a boundary in which the minimum level of key urban
facilities and services as defined in the Metro Plan can be provided in an orderly efficient and
timely manner; and
D, Where applicable fiscal impacts to the City have been mitigated through an Annexation
Agreement or other mechanism approved by the City Council (SDC 5.7-140).
SUBJECT PROPERTY LOCATION: Portion of 19th Street right-of-way on the boundary between
Assessor's Map 17-03-24-00 and Map 17-03-24-31, Springfield.
DATE, TIME, AND LOCATION OF THE HEARING: The Springfield City Council will hear all
testimony for and against the proposal on January 19, 20 I 0, at 7:00 p.m, at 225 Fifth Street in Springfield
City Hall Council Chambers.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The application, all documents and evidence submitted by or on
behalf of the applicant and the application criteria are available for inspection at City Hall at no cost and
copies will be provided at a reasonable cost.
