ITEM TITLE: PURCHASE OF ONE (l) DUMP TRUCK
ACTION REQUESTED: BY MOTION TO ACCEPT OR REJECT THE BID FROM FARWEST
TRUCK CENTER FOR PURCHASE OF ONE (1) DUMP TRUCK
IN THE AMOUNT OF $86,490
ISSUE STATEMENT: The Public Works Department is seeking Council approval for purchasing
one dump truck with funds in the current budget.

DISCUSSION/
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The adopted FY08 budget includes funds to
replace one 18 year-old Maintenance Division dump truck (Vehicle ill # 7-39).
This vehicle can no longer be relied upon for daily, heavy-duty maintenance
activities. At the June 18, 2007, Council Meeting, Council awarded the purchase of
three (3) dump trucks to Farwest Truck Center. Since bids are good through July
31,2007, the Public Works Maintenance Division is seeking approval to purchase
without trade a fourth dump truck. The 18 year old dump truck will be sold at
auction with monies from the sale to be credited to the replacement fund (F713).
