I have forwarded your e-mail to our city manager and department heads as well. It is rare when I receive a nice e-mail that I received from you, so I want to make sure our leadership has an opportunity to view. Respectfully Sid Leiken Mayor From: JOHN C MULLEN [johncmullen@msn.com] Sent: Sunday, April 25, 2010 4:27 AM To: Springfield Mayor Cc: UMBIRD Andrew Subject: Tree replanting project at The Pointe condominiums Mr Mayor: My name is John Mullen and I am Chairman of the Board of Directors here at The Pointe. Before I was recently elected to that position I had the pleasure of working with Andy Limbird to accomplish the goals of both the City of Springfield and The Pointe Homeowners Association. Things got off to a most difficult start as the Board, at the time of the tree removal, was unaware of permit requirements as was the contractor that was hired to remove several old trees. Andy repeatedly made himself available and answered all of our questions and offered suggestions when he was asked. I couldn't have been more pleased. You can be sure that from this point forward that any contract I sign will have a provision that the contractor will be responsible for obtaining all of the City required permits. It seems that in this day and age that all we ever hear are complaints and I wanted to change that by letting you know how pleased we were with the service Andy provided. He is one of this department's brightest and best. Our goal with compliance issues is always to try and get to "yes." I'm glad this worked out, and for several reasons that must be obvious. By the way, the new trees look splendid. .n Bill Bill Grile, leMA-cM, A1CP I Director Development Services Department City of Springfield 225 Fifth Street I Springfield, OR 97477 Office: (541) 726-3619 I Fax: (541) 726-3689 barile@lcLsDrinafield.or.us I www.ci.sDrinafield.or.us/dsd/DEPTDSD.HTM From: JOHN C MULLEN [mailto:johncmullen@msn.com] Sent: Sunday, April 2S, 2010 4:27 AM To: Springfield Mayor Cc: UMBIRD Andrew Subject: Tree replanting project at The Pointe condominiums Mr Mayor: My name is John Mullen and I am Chairman of the Board of Directors here at The Pointe.
