HOPKINS Steve From: Sent: To: Subject: CARPENTER Christopher Monday, June 22, 2009 3:50 PM HOPKINS Steve DRC2009-00022 AND DRC2009-00023 /a.r}(.-~ /(1/ Hi Steve- Regarding DRC2009-00022: 1) Oregon Revised Statute 447233 requires (2) two accessible parking spaces for parking lots with 26-50 spaces- the proposed design identifies only one space. 2) The Oregon Structural Specialty Code section 1104.4.5 requires that these spaces be on the shortest accessible route to accessible building(s) /entrance(s)- The provided narrative implies that the proposed van accessible space is to serve the A3 and the Gateways High School: Unless the high school is served by another space not identified on the plans, proximate to the H.S. building entrance(s), the location of the proposed space would not comply even if there were two accessible spaces there. 3) The accessible route is required to have detectable warnings and a marked crossing (also per OSSC 1104.4.5)- no marked crossing is identified on the proposed plans. As the site is essentially flat, compliance with the slopes/grades required by accessibility standards should not be difficult, and I see no other issues worth noting at this time. Regarding DRC2009-00023: No issues worth noting.
