DRC2009-00022, Springfield Arts Academy Parking Lot Improvements
I have reviewed the materials provided with the subject application. The recommended
findings and conditions outlined below are provided for your use in preparing the
land-use decision.
VEmCLE PARKING. LOADING AND BICYCLE PARKING STANDARDS
Finding: Section 4.6-1 IS of the Springfield Development Code requires that 90 degree
parking stalls have a clear aisle width of24 feet. Space numbers 3S, 36 and the disabled
space are designed with only 14 feet of aisle width that backs into the alley.
Finding: Section 4.6-120 (D) of the Springfield Development Code states: "Backing into
the public right-of-way, other than alleys is prohibited."
Condition: Prior to approval ofthe Final Site Plan, the applicant shall reconfigure spaces
3S, 36 and the Disabled Parking space to comply with SDC4.6-115.
"NOTE: The applicant is not required to keep all three spaces but must at a minimum
keep the Disabled Space to comply with ADA requirements.
