Just wanted to give you a heads up that Councilor Simmons visited me today asking a question about the staff report on
this item.
The report, at page 6, indicates that solid waste service for residential customers is provided by Sanipac under an
exclusive franchise, but the commercial and industrial accounts are free to select any provider. That is incorrect; the
franchise is exclusive to all hauling, with the sole exception of source separated recyclables.
I spoke to Andy about this already, but since I will not be at the meeting, I thought you should know in case there is any
conversation on the subject.
