I ITEM 1: Public Comment
There was no business from the audience.
I ITEM 2: Minutes Approval
January minutes were approved with change to Item 4, paragraph 2 removing "was".
I ITEM 3: Land Use Applications
Flanery House - 315 Fifth Street
Staff Jones informed the Commission that there is a sale pending on the property. Pam
Lawrence, the Director of X, the organization purchasing the property, attended to
discuss a proposed modification pending purchase of the property. The proposed
modification is the addition of an ADA ramp at the back of the house, which would be
constructed of concrete with metal railings. The ramp would extend beyond the house
but would not be visible from the street. The work would be completed soon after the
sale closes.
Commissioner Tuttle asked if they would remove the sliding doors adjacent to the new
ramp. Commissioner Corbin stated that the slider is not ADA compliant and would
likely need to be altered. Staff Jones said that it would be good to replace it with a
matching door. Commissioner Corbin said that if the slider is replaced that the siding
needs to be replaced with in-kind material, the trim on the door needs to match, and there
should be consideration of a door with full transparency like the other back door.
Commissioner Barbero said that the key is that ramp is reversible. Commissioner
Barbero made a motion to recommend approval of the application with the changes
suggested. Motion passed without dissent.
Ebbert Methodist Church - 532 C Street
Staff Jones said that the Boy Scouts affiliated with the church wish to replace the storage
unit on the vacant lot adjacent to the church. Bob Ewing, who works with the Boy
